This was work at the public marina in Port Renfrew. They need a lot
of pilings to stabilize the docks. There is a large bay with 2 rivers
flowing into it and the tidal action can be quite severe here. The
Pacific Ocean is just around the corner from here. The docks were
anchored to stabilize them but the swells made the docks move around
an awful lot.
We installed 3 dolphins along the back side of the main dock and a 4
piling dolphin at the ends of the two outer fingers. Once these were
all in place, we then chained the docks to the pilings. The docks
could be easily removed in the winter time and stored up the river to
avoid the violent storms.
