This is a set of images from work we are doing in Port Renfrew. There hasn't been a pile driver here for a long time and the pilings are needed.

This was done for the Native Ferry that takes travellers to the start of the West Coast Trail.
The Gordon River flows by and the Pilings will keep the docks off of the shore which is very rocky. The docks will provide more income from people wanting tie up space as well as enhance the boat launch that is in place.

This was work at the public marina in Port Renfrew. They need a lot of pilings to stabilize the docks. There is a large bay with 2 rivers flowing into it and the tidal action can be quite severe here. The Pacific Ocean is just around the corner from here. The docks were anchored to stabilize them but the swells made the docks move around an awful lot.

We installed 3 dolphins along the back side of the main dock and a 4 piling dolphin at the ends of the two outer fingers. Once these were all in place, we then chained the docks to the pilings. The docks could be easily removed in the winter time and stored up the river to avoid the violent storms.
